With regard to the Danish Government announcement on 11 March 2020 about COVID-19, Ice Swim Copenhagen on 22 March 2020 has been cancelled. 

ISC is looking to set a new date. Updates will be posted on this page as soon as possible.

All races are listed on Sportstiming to include the registration fee (250dk adults / 125dk children).
This will only be charged to your first race, then deducted from subsequent races at check-out. 

On 22 March 2020, Ice Swim Copenhagen www.iceswimcopenhagen.dk will hold their first Ice Swimming event in the beautiful, clear waters of Skovshoved Havn, 10km north of Copenhagen city centre. 

We invite you to take part in this amazing opportunity, whether you are a seasoned winter swimmer or completely new to winter bathing - you can acclimatise in 2 weeks and be ready to compete in your first 25m heat! 

Why not put together a fun relay team? 

If you are a non-swimmer, perhaps you would like to volunteer and help on the day with the event. Please see our website for more information about volunteering.

Information:

Registration: Registration opens on 19th February 2020 at 20:00 and closes on 8th March 2020 at 20:00. Registration will not be available after this date, unless minimum participant numbers have not been met. 

Race distances: 25m, 50m, 100m and 200m in both breaststroke and freestyle and a fun 4x25m fun relay. Minimum ages apply, see below. Children (8-15yr olds) can ONLY participate in the 25m races. Endurance swimmers may ONLY enter one 200m race, either freestyle or breaststroke. Please ensure you only register for one of the 200m races. NB. The system will allow you to register for both 200m races, but due to event rules you will only be allowed to participate in ONE of the 200m races. 

Minimum age: (on race day)

25m: 8 years. 

50m: 16 years.

100m: 16 years.

200m: 20 years.

Relay: 8 years (for children relay), 16 years (for adult relay).
 

Prices: All races are listed on Sportstiming to include the registration fee (250dk adults / 125dk children). This will be only be charged to your first race, then deducted from subsequent races at check-out. 

One-off Registration fee: 

Adults (16 years+):  250dk

Children (8-15 years):  125dk 

Race Fees: 

Adults (16 years+): 100dk

Children (8-15 years):  50dk 

Relay 4x25m: The 4 x 25 relay is a fun event not run according to IWSA guidelines. All relay participants (not just the team leader) MUST be registered for an individual event in order to participate in the relay. 

Medical: All participants should be fit, healthy and able swimmers and be acclimatised to cold water swimming. Endurance swimmers (200m) must provide recent medical documentation and must pass a medical check on the event day. Please refer to ISC rules (sections 8 and 9) as detailed on www.iceswimcopenhagen.dk/rules/

Disclaimer: All participants must tick the liability waiver box upon registration. 

Cancellation: If too few entries are made, the event will not take place.  Should the event be cancelled race fees will be refunded in accordance with our terms and conditions.

 

Event Program: 

08.30 Check-in opens. Participant race packs will be given out at check-in.

09.00 Medical accreditation for 200m participants.

09.45 Safety briefing for all participants.

09.55 Event officially opened by Gentofte Mayor, Hans Toft.

10.00: Races commence

16:00: Event finish

The race times will be adjusted, depending on the number of participants. All times are approximate. ISC reserves the right to amend as necessary. See website for more information

  
Race Timing and Results:

Race timing is handled by Sportstiming App. There will be live results available on the Sportstiming app. Please download the Sportstiming app on to your smart device in advance. 

Diplomas:

All participants will receive a printable diploma via the Sportstiming app or website. 

First Aid

There will be lifeguards and two doctors/ paramedics on duty on site for all the races.

Helpers and guides:

There are many volunteers at the event who can help you with any questions you might have.

 

Parking:

There is plenty of parking available at Skovshoved Havn. There will be parking marshalls to help you find a space.
