In 2021 – Skamlingsbanken opened up after a large rebuild; new paths, sightings and a beautiful experience center built into the hills. In that connection we held the first edition of Skamlingløbet. it was amazing - so here we are again!


Skamlingsbanken has through history been a gathering place for public meeting with lots of important meetings in Danish history. The last 100 years a place for nature loving outdoor people.. BUT once a year Skamlingsbanken and the surrounding areas has had the pleasure of a big gathering of running elfs. In 2021, the Santas from Skamling had a longliving dream of a summer run fulfilled. Actually we dusted off the original plan for Juleløbet Skamling and created Skamlingløbet. The name is close to the original run from the 90ies "Skamlingsbankeløbet" – and exactly HISTORY will be the DNA of this race!

Skamlingløbet will evolve to a historical run, where we will use the history of the area to create the settings for the race - and market.
The start and finishline will be at  ”FOLKEMØDEPLADSEN”, which is the basic idea of the race - we want to create a public gathering or peoples meeting - just like Skamlingsbanken was intented to be used for.

The race will be held over 2 days and run on an old Danish Mile (7,5k);


Wednesday May 25th.,

09:00 PM: Sunset Run (2 & 3 Ml. 400/600 HM) KR. 250,-

A headlight run with start just around sunset . The runners will be presented to an amazing view over Kolding Fjord from the top of l’Skamling d’Huez which will be our first climb before you will experience 600 altimeter on 3 laps.
Actually you will experince a different run for every lap you begin since the route will change character when it becomes darker.. And beware, you might have a couple of surprices on the run, hence it's the guys behind Juleløbet Skamling Ultra arranging this part of the race.

Thursday May 26th we will arrange the shorter races with distance for the entire familiy. From the smallest, to the new trailrunners and the experienced runners.

09:00: The Peoples race, 2 Mil (2 laps, 400 Altimeter) KR. 200,-
09:30 am: Beginners Trail, ½ Mil KR. 95,-
10:15: Childrens Race, ½ Mil KR. 75,-
10:45: The Peoples Race, 1 Mil (1 lap, 200 altimeter) KR. 150,-


The setting for the race will be old market athmosphere on Folkemødepladsen where local businesses will set up sales booths. We are working with Museum Kolding, Kolding Kommune and Blue Bridge Music Festival on exciting stuff we will reveal over the next couple of months - so it will be an experience for runners as well as local specatators.

* Wear trailshoes

* Racenumbers can be picked up Wednesday from 7:30 pm on sight. Thursday from 08:00 am.

* You can sign up on sight, but NOT change your distance!

* You can pay with Mobilepay 

* At a later point in time it will possible to buy a picnic basket.

* Cut-off for Sunset Race on 2 mil is 2 hours!!! (You have to be out of the finish area and have started your last round BEFORE 11:00 pm!!)

* Change of distance, no later than Monday 23.05.22.
